Pachymeter
To accurately measure your intra ocular pressure (IOP) , it is sometimes necessary to measure the corneal thickness.
This is important when the cornea is thicker or thinner than the normal thickness .
Corneal Pachymetry is necessary in the following conditions:
Persons with glaucoma or glaucoma suspects (testing is considered medically necessary once per lifetime)
Corneal transplant (penetrating keratoplasty) (pre- and post-operative evaluation)
Corneal refractive surgery (pre- and post-operative evaluation)
Evaluation of corneal rejection post penetrating keratoplasty
Corneal edema
Posterior polymorphous dystrophy
